National Clinical Impact Awards

Apply for RSTMH support in the 2022 round of the National Clinical Impact Awards

The Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards (ACCEA) has been rebranded to the Advisory Committee on Clinical Impact Awards (ACCIA). The ACCIA considers applications for NCIAs from consultants employed in NHS organisations in England and Wales only.

National Clinical Impact Awards (NCIAs) recognise and reward consultant doctors and dentists who provide clear evidence of clinical excellence, demonstrating achievements that are significantly over-and-above their job plan and what they would normally be expected to deliver in their roles. Consultants must put themselves forward for an Award in competition with their peers.

RSTMH is registered as a national nominating organisation so will be supporting applications from members and Fellows for Awards. All members and Fellows seeking the support of RSTMH are asked to complete the NCIAs 2022 Application Form and send a copy to the Society by 9am (BST) on 1 June 2022. This is a finite deadline and we will be unable to accept forms after this date (this is to allow our review panel time in which to assess submitted applications).

Applicants need to submit an application via the National Clinical Impact Awards website, as in previous years.

Once completed, forms should also be submitted to Tamar Ghosh (tamar [dot] ghosh [at] rstmh [dot] org). Please note applicants can only be nominated by one organisation.

The closing date for submitting forms for a NCIA is 22 June 2022 (5pm).

There are three categories of nomination:

  • National 1 (lowest)
  • National 2
  • and National 3 (highest)

The 2022 National Clinical Impact Awards Guidance for Applicants has been published on GOV.UK:

There is also a ‘Quick Guide’ designed to assist Applicants as they complete their applications:

The application form can be found here: 2022 Application Form

The ACCIA considers applications for NCIAs from consultants employed in NHS organisations in England and Wales only. Scotland and Northern Ireland run schemes unconnected, but along similar lines, to the National Clinical Impact Awards.

Applicants are strongly advised to register for the awards as early as possible.
